Your Ceremony Questions, Answered

Here are some of the most common things couples like to know before we begin planning together.

What does a celebrant do?

A celebrant creates and leads personalised ceremonies such as weddings, civil unions, vow renewals and naming ceremonies. I work closely with you to craft a meaningful, heartfelt celebration that reflects your story, beliefs, and values.

Are you a registered marriage celebrant?

Yes, I did my study through the Celebrant School NZ and I am now fully registered with Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM). I am a member of Celebrants Aotearoa NZ (CANZ). I am authorised to legally solemnise marriages and civil unions.

How far in advance should we book?

Weddings often book out several months (or a year) in advance, especially peak summer dates. If your date is coming up soon, message me and we can start planning. Even as little as one week's notice is doable!

Do you travel?

Absolutely! I travel throughout Hamilton, Auckland and surrounding regions. I’m also available for destination weddings by arrangement, even on the ice shelf in Antarctica!

Do you help with the legal paperwork?

Absolutely. I guide you through the marriage licence process, explain what documents you need and provide links to obtain those documents, and handle all legal paperwork on the day.
